Known as the "Jazz" in that country, Honda's rally racers are Eli Evans and Glen Weston, along with Mark Pedder and Claire Ryan in a second car, won first place at Rally Calder. They had to battle against other rally pros & dealt with rain, and poor road conditions.
"Our strategy was to keep the Jazz on the road. It sounds easy but it really wasn't," Evans said after the victory. "Your braking markers were different every time and I just wanted to make sure I was pushing the brake pedal early..."1
Despite terrible weather, Honda Jazz vehicles helped propel the team to a first place victory.
At one point, Pedder and Ryan suffered transmission problems, but it didn't keep them down for long: "We were just coming through a fairly tight second gear corner and heard a big bang. Initially I thought it was a drive shaft, then we lost a bit of drive and then it locked in third, so we puddled our way through the stage."2
